Beam me up, Scotty!

Category: [People]

Dead, at age 85, Star Trek’s Enterprise space ship’s chief engineer Montgomery Scott. There have been rumors around that actor James Doohan played the part but real die-hard Star Trekkies know better. Doohan was Scotty, just like Leonard Nimoy was Mr.Spock. Only Nixon could go to China as the old Vulcan proverb goes, and only Scotty with his thick Welsh accent could push his baby the Enterprise to Warp 8.

His Creator beamed him up finally today, so he should be enjoying his 70 Virgins by now. Although his mind was gone already for a while (he died of
Alzheimer's) he might still take them to Warp Infinity. No surprise if he did, he became father at age 80 again. Apparently, he could get himself to Warp 8 too. It could happen to anyone of us.

Aye, Aye, Scotty, take care over there, where no living man has boldly gone before.
